Brands I Love: River Island

One of my favorite brands ever is River Island.  It's feminine, creative, and they have a little bit of everything.  There are hundreds of items to choose from.  It's probably my favorite brand ever.

One thing that stands out about this brand is how many styles you can get from their items.  There's vintage, girly, glamorous, "bad girl," and tons of others.  There are plenty of ways to mix and match.  I'm not sure about their pricing - I've never bought anything from them - but I'm a huge fan of the look.

I've linked to their site above so you can check out their stuff, and you can also find clothes from them on Polyvore and Fashiolista if you type in River Island.  I hope you enjoy the brand.

XOXO,
  Rebecca

P. S. I know this post kinda sucks, but I'm new to the world of fashion blogging, and I haven't blogged in months anyway.  Still, you get the picture.

Welcome to The Amateur Stylist!

My name is Rebecca, and I very, very recently got into fashion.  I don't really care about in real life, but online, I've started to find myself going to fashion blog after fashion blog.  I haven't been into the topic enough to develop favorite brands or designers or anything, but I'm going to try my best to keep you guys updated on fashion stuff that matters to me.

I think I should start out by telling you my two favorite fashion websites.  The first website about style I really got into is Polyvore which is a terrific source for finding new items at great prices, and putting them together in a set to show off your style.  I mainly use it for fun, but now that I've gotten more followers, I'm trying to hone my fashion skills.  There's loads you can do with it and I highly recommend it.

Another site that I discovered just yesterday is Fashion Gone Rogue.  It's updated daily, and includes the latest lookbooks, campaigns, editorials, and runway collections.  It's a must-read for anyone interested in fashion and modeling.

I really have no idea what direction this blog is going in - or if it'll amount to anything, or if I'll get any followers - but I'd appreciate it if you'd stick around and give me a chance.  But please don't expect anything TOO special.  Thank you very much for reading.

XOXO,
  Rebecca, The Amateur Stylist
